our story
masifunde was founded in 2004 in Walmer Township, Gqeberha, as a small bursary programme supporting a handful of learners to access quality education. Over time, it grew into a holistic development model that accompanies children and youth from early childhood through young adulthood. Today, masifunde runs community-based programmes in Walmer and national changemaker campaigns across South Africa, empowering thousands of young people to become active, responsible citizens.
